MassyMoo is the childhood nickname of Masitah, the founder of MassyMoo Online Boutique. Starting a home-based business had always been a dream for Masitah. However, like many, the demands of a fast-paced life meant this dream was put on hold.

During her maternity leave after the birth of her first child, the moments of quiet reflection led Masitah to revisit her business ideas. With over a decade of experience in the corporate sector, she noticed a significant gap: the lack of Islamically appropriate corporate attire for women in the workplace. Determined to address this need, Masitah set out to create clothing that meets Shariah requirements while remaining elegant and practical.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic delayed her plans to travel overseas and collaborate with skilled tailors, Masitah persevered. MassyMoo was born as an online boutique offering modest wear tailored for the discerning woman. Today, the collection has expanded and includes traditional dresses, abayas, hijabs, and accessories that combine elegance with purpose.

The swan in our logo carries a special story.

The black swan is native to Western Australia, where Masitah was born and raised. The inspiration for the swan came from peaceful morning walks along Perth’s Swan River, where Masitah and her best friend would share dreams of escaping the corporate grind to spend more time with loved ones. As they watched black swans gliding gracefully across the still waters, their baby cygnets trailing close behind like a little train, an idea began to form.

These serene moments, filled with reflection and hope, inspired the creation of MassyMoo. The black swan symbolises grace, resilience, and the beauty of finding your path as Muslims – values at the heart of MassyMoo.
